I’ve been captivated by great storytelling since my grandmother read me my first Hans Christian Andersen story. Now I write about travel, business, arts, food, wine, and curious people.

My travel writing is featured at the Miami Herald, the Sacramento Bee, the Charlotte Observer, Detour: Best Stories in Black Travel, SouthPark Magazine, Southern Living, Metropolis Magazine, Connect Magazines, Carolinas Golf Magazine, PGA Magazine, BizBash, DC Refined, Ballantyne Magazine and others.

My personal essays explore the personalities, back stories, and character behind destinations revealing intimate snapshots of life often missed by visitors on heavily scheduled agendas. My favorite destinations include Iran’s Persepolis, the magic kingdom of Bhutan, Irkutsk, known as the “Paris” of Siberia, and my adopted hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. I’m an active member of the Society of American Travel Writers.

My culture writing is found at the New York Times, Smithsonian Magazine, Salvation South, the Jewish Daily Forward,  Creative Loafing, NASCAR Illustrated, PANK, Minnesota Magazine and others.

I craft custom content for corporate and nonprofit organizations such as Duke Energy, the University of North Carolina, the Mint Museum, American City Business Journals, and others.
