My Fiction
I am stunned to find my adolescent memory tale, The Dare, nominated for the prestigious Pushcart by BluePrint Review.
Thanks to Dorothee Lang. Congrats to all the nominees – I am honored and humbled to be included.
I am extremely humbled to learn that my short noir story, Pewter Badge, published at Yellow Mama, has been awarded the prestigious Derringer Award by the Short Mystery Fiction Society for the Best Short Story of 2011.
Established in 1996, the Short Mystery Fiction Society is a worldwide group of writers, editors, publishers, and readers. Through informative discussion, publicity efforts, and the annual Derringer Awards, they promote the creation, publication, and appreciation of short mystery and crime fiction.
My sincere thanks to the SMFS for this honor.
My very twisted and dark tale, If Love is a Red Dress – Hang Me in Rags, is included in the acclaimed Pulp Ink mystery and crime anthology released in the summer of 2011. This collection features 24 of the sharpest Noir writers out there and I was only too happy to play along when asked.
I am extremely pleased and honored that my micro-fiction piece, Seventy-two Hours or Less , has been nominated for the prestigious Pushcart Prize for 2011 by the online Crime/Noir Publisher, A Twist of Noir.
Topograph surveys the literary landscape that has emerged in recent decades, exploding tarnished ideas about Southern writing. For anyone interested in the latest trends, this collection offers a broad spectrum of styles, including formally innovative essays, adventurous flash fiction, and minimalist poetry alongside more traditional storytelling and memorable travelogues. It provides a vista of the most exciting work being done in the area, writing that’s often informed by geography in unexpected ways.

I’m thrilled to find my short story and poetry chapbook, Last Winter’s Leaves, published by Full Of Crow Press.
An introspective look at a challenging period, this collection of micro-flash fiction and tiny prose poems was a joy to write.
